Monthly Book Club

Shout out to all the local book lovers out there! Are you looking for a new book club to join that is local to you in Poole?Well look no further! 

We have now started our monthly book club in our coffee shop, run by local book lover, Alice! The club will be completely FREE and there will be a barista on site to order hot drinks, alcohol or perhaps even a slice of cake during your visit! Please note, this is a free event so a food or drink purchase on the night would be appreciated.

What is the next book?

Our next book to be read and discussed is called 'A BOOK OF TWO WAYS' by JODI PICOULT Who would you be, if you hadn't turned out to be the person you are now?  Dawn is a death doula, and spends her life helping people make the final transition peacefully.  But when the plane she's on plummets, she finds herself thinking not of the perfect life she has, but the life she was forced to abandon fifteen years ago - when she left behind a career in Egyptology, and a man she loved.  Against the odds, she survives, and the airline offers her a ticket to wherever she needs to get to - but the answer to that question suddenly seems uncertain.  As the path of her life forks in two very different directions, Dawn must confront questions she's never truly asked: what does a well-lived life look like? What do we leave behind when we go? And do we make our choices, or do our choices make us? Two possible futures. How does a book club work?

Each month there will be a new book, chosen by a member of the group for all to read, so that on the next monthly meet up everyone can share their thoughts and opinions.

The evening will allow time to discuss the book followed by half an hour to catch up and get to know your fellow book lovers!! 

The group will be for over 18's and ideally consist of 8 - 15 people, allowing space for everyones perspective to be heard, and regular attendance is recommended. So if you think this sounds right up your street, then why not come and join us for our next meet up on Wednesday 28TH SEPTEMBER
